Buying your first home is exciting Dash but it can also feel a little overwhelming. How much can you afford? How much money do you need upfront? Do you need perfect credit? And what happens after you finally find a house you love?
The good news is you don’t have to figure all this out before you start.
One of the best first steps is simply talking with a real estate agent and a trusted lender. A lender can help you understand what you may qualify for, what your estimated monthly payment could look like, and which loan programs might be available to you.
And don’t automatically assume you need a 20% down payment. Depending on the loan and your qualifications, there may be options requiring considerably less.
Once you know your price range, that’s when the fun part begins dash looking at homes.
But as your Realtor , I’m looking at more than whether you love the kitchen or the backyard. I’ll help you think about the condition of the home, comparable properties, the offer, inspections, negotiations, deadlines, paperwork and all those details you’ve probably never had to think about before.
That’s especially important when you’re buying your first home. You’re not supposed to already know how all of this works.
My job is to explain what’s happening, answer your questions and help you understand your options so you can make informed decisions along the way.
Have you been thinking about buying your first home in Mountain Home or North central Arkansas but aren’t sure whether you’re ready yet? That’s perfectly fine.
You don’t have to be ready to buy a house to start asking questions.
